Install Windows 7 & Vista via USB : Easiest tutorial

Do you have a netbook without dvd-drive and you want to try downloaded windows 7 iso ? Is your dvd drive not working or do you not want to spend money on dvd drive for making a windows os dvd ? Whatever be the reason, you may want to install your windows os be it windows vista or windows 7 through usb pen drive without the need of additional dvd disks. Before reading this tutorial, you might have landed on other websites which explain a tedious process to make your usb drive bootable through commands and so. Well, this tutorial is for such people who don’t want any complexity but full simplicity and ease. This step by step easiest tutorial to install windows 7 or windows vista from usb drive (pen drive) is just as simple as clicking few times and sipping coffee while relaxing.

Requirements: Before you proceed, Get these requirements :

1. Windows 7 or windows vista iso image.

2. Either WinRar software or Daemon tools – For extracting image onto hard disk.

3. A 3 + GB pen drive.

4. WinToFlash free software – Download It

Steps:

1. Mount image using Damon Tools and copy all the files from the mounted iso on to a folder on hard disk. Alternatively you can use winrar to extract iso image to a folder.

2. Open WinToFlash program and follow the instructions as directed by the program. See the screenshots below.

3. Insert Pen Drive / usb storage drive/disk. Make sure your usb drive contains no important files.

4. Specify the extracted windows folder in the windows file path field and the usb drive letter in the usb drive field. See the screenshots:

5. Select the radio button – I accepted the terms of the license agreement and then click continue, see screenshot below.

6. Press ok.

7. You are done. Now click exit.

8. Now install windows by booting through usb drive.

If your pc doesn’t boot through usb drive, make sure your bios settings are configured to use usb booting. If your pc doesn’t boot through usb, the you need to configure your motherboard bios setting to enable usb booting. For intel original motherboards, Press F2 during POST i.e. as you power on your computer, now under boot menu, enable usb booting. For other motherboards, refer to their manuals.
