The much criticised windows vista gave microsoft a blow but windows 7 cheered them as it set record as the fastest selling windows os till date. Windows 7 incorporates performance features like that of xp and looks like that of windows vista and therefore as popular as windows xp has been.
Peter Klein, chief financial officer at Microsoft, said, “Exceptional demand for Windows 7 led to the positive top-line growth for the company. Our continuing commitment to managing costs allowed us to drive earnings performance ahead of the revenue growth.”
Windows 7 seems to be its knight and shining armour, responsible for this glory. Microsoft has stated that it has sold 60 million licenses of its latest Operating System till date. That amount of sales in a matter of just three months since its worldwide launch is making Microsoft brag that Windows 7 is apparently the “fastest selling OS in history“.
